Six by Nico's Six Course 'Pop-ups' in Charlotte Street, Fitzrovia

Six by Nico is a new permanent restaurant by Scottish chef Nico Simeone in Charlotte Street.  Each six weeks the menu changes (so in effect it is like a series of pop-ups).  The first menu is a set six courses , open daily from Monday 20th July to Sunday 30th August 2020, at which point the menu will change and it will start again.
The concept for the first six weeks is 'The Chippy' with a menu inspired by classic chip shops (inc a steak pie, and a 'deep fried Mars Bar' dessert), for just £35 per head - book here - with optional wine pairings for an addiitonal £33 per head.
It's at 33-41 Charlotte Street, formerly a Zizzi, with seating for £76 people.
Very creative, and the food looks excellent!

"Scottish chef Nico Simeone is heading to London with his concept restaurant, hitting up Fitzrovia with a regularly changing tasting menu.
The group already has restaurants in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Belfast, Liverpool and Manchester and now Scottish chef Nico Simeone is heading to London's Charlotte Street with his Six by Nico concept. The idea is pretty simple - the restaurant serves a six-course tasting menu that changes every six weeks. In London that will set you back £35.
Simeone learned his trade at Michelin-starred Number One at Balmoral before opening the much-vaunted 111 in Glasgow (it got a rave review from Marina O'Loughlin) and then moving into the bistro game.
The first tasting menu will be "The Chippie" featuring:
- Filo Cannelloni filled with taramasalata, keta caviar and crème fraiche, and a potato croquette coated in vinegar powder which will be served alongside a parmesan espuma drizzled with curry oil.
- Scrabster Monkfish cheek on a bed of wild garlic emulsion, gribiche, peas and beurre blanc
- “Steak Pie” with shredded Speyside beef shin, burnt onion ketchup, mushroom duxelle and ‘meaty salsa.'
- Shetland cod on top of confit fennel, samphire beer emulsion and pickled mussels
- Smoked Sausage featuring a trio of pork, apple, black pudding, salt-baked celeriac and choucroute.
- Deep-fried mars bar with Caramelia, chocolate mousse, blood orange sorbet and cocoa nib
Wine pairings will be available at £33 per person or you can just choose from the wine list instead. As for the restaurant, taking account of social distancing, it'll now seat 76."

When - Daily from Monday 20th July - Sunday 30th August 2020.
(at which point the menu changes)

Where - 33-41 Charlotte StFitzrovia, London W1T 1RR

Boca Chica are now in the kitchen at The King & Co in Clapham, serving food from the Dominican Republic on Saturdays to Mondays (sharing with Ugly Supper Club whose SE Asian-inspired cuisine is available on Tuesdays to Fridays).

I went last week and it was excellent!  I'd tried Vigmar's food before, at her last pop-up in Peckham, and this menu is even better.  Big bowls of Caribbean food with choices including rice, plantain chips, beef and fried chicken, with vegan options including smoked aubergine.  It's the best kind of comfort food; deeply satisfying!

Sunday – 12-10pm (Boca Chica's food 4-9)

Zephyr Burgers, who have been serving their Californian-inspired buns since quitting their regular jobs in 2018, have started a new kitchen residency at The Great Exhibition pub at 193 Crystal Palace Rd, East Dulwich, SE22, serving Tuesdays to Sundays.  I have drooled over Zephyr's pics on Instagram for far too long; I need to go and try these out!

"Working in LA on the regular, Oz, the founder became obsessed with the food of Southern California. he was inspired both by the colourful dishes that local chefs were bringing to casual dining spaces and by the growing popularity of the simple smash burger. He had a clear vision: creative buns, burgers and small plates under a name that sings “Southern California”!  (search "Dog Town & Z-Boys") and with his wife Sheena they created Zephyr.
They obsess over how to deliver the best experience with each burger, focusing on the vital elements for ultimate enjoyment: soft & crunchy, juicy & creamy, balanced acidity with a slight sweetness, whilst also being a feast for the eyes."
