Red's True Barbecue has branches in Headingly, Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham, and prior to opening up a permanent site in Great Eastern Street, Shoreditch, is holding a Thurs-Sat pop-up at The Old Blue Last pub just a few doors down the road until 4th July. Red's take their BBQ very seriously - they head to the Deep South of the US for a road trip every year to get inspiration for new items; some of these can be enjoyed during the pop-up. No booking; turn up hungry!
"For the first time Red’s True Barbecue are going South, way down to the deep south – to Shoreditch to be precise. To spread the gospel of its forthcoming permanent place of worship, Red’s will take up residency at The Old Blue Last from June 11 to July 4th. Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening the 4-week takeover will see the venue’s upstairs flat transformed into a pop up version of Red’s True Barbecue. It’s a taster of the Red’s experience before the 54-56 Great Eastern Street restaurant launches on 24th July.
Red’s are the ONLY UK BBQ aficionados that take an annual pilgrimage to the Deep South to bear witness to the best in authentic techniques. A video of their UV roadtrip can be seen below and the very best flavours and inspirations are reflected in the menus for both the pop up and the main restaurant.
