"Prominent popup chefs Tiberi are bringing their much-loved “Barcelona munchies” to renowned independent Clapham pub The King & Co this July. Running daily from Monday 4th July until the end of the month, the new kitchen residency will showcase the popular streetfood team’s infamous traditional tapas with a vanguard twist, and add a welcome flavour of Catalan sunshine to Summer time in South London.
Visitors to Tiberi’s pub kitchen takeover can feast on the celebrated collection of small plates by co-founders Marc and Pau, who promise a unique interpretation of Catalan classics by combining authentic ingredients with a touch of inspiration from other cuisines. Featuring an array of tempting tapas ranging from well-known favourites like patates braves hand-cut fried potatoes with spicy tomato sauce, and black rice squid balls with alioli; to innovative creations like Escalivada and goat’s cheese dumplings topped with romesco sauce, toasted sesame and spring onion; the Barcelona-style bar bites are ideal for sharing with friends alfresco on The King & Co’s beer deck.
Passionate about highlighting extraordinary Catalan flavours and top-quality produce, Tiberi’s new pub menu also includes irresistible snacks like Marcona almonds and Padron peppers, and an unmissable cheeseboard of hidden gems from the region including the soft and creamy Uff! de Mas Alba washed in craft beer. Those looking for a sweet ending to their supper are sure to be satisfied by the duo’s signature Crema Catalana, legendary from their hugely successful previous popups at Unwined in Tooting and The Duke’s Head in Highgate.
Guests dining at The King & Co on weekdays in July can take advantage of an exclusive early evening deal until 7pm, where they can choose three dishes from a special selection of Tiberi’s tapas to tuck into for just £15 along with either a glass of Tarabilla Tinto or Solano Blanco wine, or a pint of Little Hopster Pale Ale. During the daytime on weekends, Tiberi will serve up a comforting Catalan take on the full English, pairing rich rustic pa amb tomaquet toasted sourdough with a host of hearty sides such as Botifarra sausage, chorizo, morcilla, fried egg, sautéed beans and mushrooms.
