Clerkenwell Boy & Bone Daddies' #BoozyWeekendRamen in Old Street
Instagram superstar Clerkenwell Boy has collaborated with Bone Daddies to create a specially formulated photogenic boozy breakfast, including a bowl of ramen - #boozyweekendramen and a DIY Belvedere Vodka Bloody Mary on the side. It's available for four weekends, from 24th September to 16th October, at Bone Daddies now restaurant at The Bower in Old Street, and only for the first fifty customers each day (just to ramp up the #FOMO...). Don't miss it!
"What happens when you put the chef responsible for changing the way Londoners eat Japanese cuisine and the city’s most influential food instagrammer in the kitchen together to create a dish? The capital gets a limited edition, boozy, breakfast-inspired ramen designed by Chef Proprietor of Bone Daddies, Ross Shonhan, and Instagram sensation, Clerkenwell Boy, set to launch on 24th September and run for four weekends at the popular rock ‘n’ roll ramen bar’s Old Street outpost.
Drawing inspiration from the upcoming launch of Bone Daddies’ first cookbook and Clerkenwell Boy’s unending love for a boozy weekend brunch, the ramen designed by the pair, to be named #BoozyWeekendRamen, taps into exactly how Londoners like to eat. Featuring the Bone Daddies essentials of flavour-packed chicken bone broth as the base, Tokyo wavy noodles, and a topping of grilled pork belly chashu with oozing Clarence Court eggs, #BoozyWeekendRamen will take the form of a unique cheese ramen in a nod to the instagrammer’s fondness for the good stuff.
Created by whisking parmesan and egg yolks into the broth, it will boast an indulgent and cheesy sauce, complemented by the generous portion of grated Quickes cheddar piled on top.Other innovative touches will include a drizzling of a pesto given the Bone Daddies treatment with the inclusion of mizuna, a Japanese leaf with a subtle pepper flavour that works perfectly with the homemade chilli oil also included in the dish. For added brunch vibes, the dish will be served alongside a DIY kimchi Bloody Mary created in partnership with Belvedere Vodka and served in a glass dipped in maple syrup and a crispy bacon crumb to create a sweet and salty garnish.A blend of roasted cherry tomato with Worcester, tomato, and Sriracha sauces, the duo’s take on the classic cocktail also features some decidedly Japanese influences, with the addition of soy sauce and shiso leaf. Using the miniature bottle of Belvedere served over ice in a traditional masu box on the side, guests will be able to create their Bloody mary to taste, adding as much.
