Cucina Rustica - serving authentic Italian dishes - has taken over the kitchen at The Cuckoo in Hemmingford Road, N1, for March and April, serving Thurdays to Sundays. Expect a changing range to seasonal dishes, including Polpette Diavolo (spicy meatballs), and for dessert the very intriguing Doughnut Gnocchi! At the weekend there wll be a brunch, and an Italian take on the Sunday roast, plus vegetarian version.

Having grew up in a Sicilian family, as a little chubby kid running around the kitchens of his families six restaurants, cooking was always going to be second nature to Giorgio. With a previous style of LA inspired fusion food Giorgio strips back all of his past gimmicks and brings with him a menu that is influenced by classic, rustic Italian/Sicilian street food and the flavours of his childhood.
At Cucina Rustica they try their hardest to source the most local ingredients to wherever they set up shop. This ethos of local produce rings true with every residency they've run, so we can bring you a true taste of life in provincial Italy.
The have rave reviews of their Kentish Town pop-up the Camden New Journal are calling 'no dish a dud', their menu 'excellent food' and the Hampstead & Highgate Express print that the 'traditional pork and beef meatballs are their speciality'. We are excited to launch the first residency of 2017 at The Cuckoo N1 and bring with us a fully immersive provincial Italian dining experience."
