Boxing & fitness brand BXR is opening a pop-up boxing gym at Selfridges on 1st February, offering classes, personal training and more Thursdays to Sundays, with BXR branded activewear, jewellery and art also on sale at the Selfridges Corner Shop. All details about booking classes below:
"BXR London, the world’s first boutique boxing club, will launch an exclusive pop up boxing gym at Selfridges, as part of Lamyland X Selfridges, in collaboration with renowned artist, creative director and producer Michele Lamy.
Inspired by her love of boxing and her training experience at BXR since its launch in January 2017, Michele was keen to partner with BXR to offer their unique boxing as part of her exciting Lamyland project. “Boxing is fascinating… More than a sport it’s a state of mind. Once up on the ring, losing the robe, almost naked, you bare soul and mind and start the encounter of four firsts and two heads in an uncertain outcome.
The rage to live throws its thunders in the fights. It’s the NOBLE ART’ ” Launching on the 1 st February, BXR will be operating a fully-functioning boxing gym in the Ultralounge area on the lower ground floor of the store. During the month of February, Selfridges customers and Londoners alike can select from one of the bespoke in-store BXR experiences; including a 45-minute group boxing class, or a private personal boxing session with one of their elite coaches. There will also be workshops and social moments hosted by Michele and friends during this time.
Combining elements from their renowned ‘Boxing Skills’ and ‘Strength and Conditioning’ classes, the bespoke BXR Ultralounge group exercise classes will run at peak times, from Thursday to Sunday. With punch bags supplied by boxing kit global leaders, Everlast, classes are designed to teach and hone individuals boxing skills through a variety of high intensity rounds of boxing, bodyweight exercises and ab drills, whilst incorporating a series of strength, mobility and conditioning exercises for an effective, full-body workout.
The BXR boxing studio is an expansion of the Lamyland x Selfridges project, which officially launches on January 4 th, 2018, aiming to turn retail new- year-new- you concepts on their head. As part of this project, Michele Lamy along with boxing collaborators, artists and friends including Gareth Pugh, Stephen Jones, Edward Bess and Rick Owens, will create an exclusive collection of boxing active wear, equipment, memorabilia, jewellery, fragrance & art, which will retail at The Selfridges Corner Shop.
