Chef Paule Béké, aka Douceurs D'Ivoire, has taken over the kitchen at The King & Co in Clapham, serving her take on French African food til Saturday 10th October 2026.
Paule Béké is best known for appearing on MasterChef: The Professionals in late 2024, and now works as a private chef in the UK and beyond, as well as running pop-ups and supper clubs. This is the first time she has popped up in a pub, and so has tailored her menu to a pub setting, including adding a hot dog, a chicken bun, a short rib, and more. The flavours are wonderfully rich, as you'd expect. The hot dog and the chicken bun were my favourites.
She is also hosting a supper club with her friend Loula at the pub on Tuesday 6th October, combining the flavours and culture of Jamaica and the Ivory Coast. For bookings please visit the pub's site and select Tuesday 6th October.
