Lion City Kitchen, street food stars from KERB and elsewhere, are taking over the kitchen at The Rose and Crown in Kentish Town, NW5, from Tuesday 1st November, serving Tuesdays to Sundays. "Lion City Kitchen will be popping up at Kentish Town’s favourite craft beer pub Rose & Crown for a three-month winter residency from 1 November. Diners can look forward to the bold and comforting flavours of modern Singaporean street food.
Serving Singaporean and Asian-style burgers and tacos, such as the “Hell Yeah” burger with char siu pork belly and homemade sambal chilli, and the Rendang Beef taco with six-hour slow cooked malay-spiced brisket, this is a menu that takes classic street food shapes and transforms them into a unique and exciting dining experience.
Other items on the new menu include sambal honey wings and Korokke burger, a vegetarian crowd pleaser of a potato and mushroom croquette served on a bun. Perfect to pair with Rose & Crown’s delicious craft beer offerings, Lion City Kitchen’s modern take on street food with a Singaporean twist is set to delight the tastebuds of the residents of NW5 and beyond.
Taking a break this winter from serving up its signature burritos at London’s best street food market, KERB, Lion City Kitchen will be offering monthly specials at its Kentish Town pop up. It’s first special, available for two weeks from its launch party on Friday, 4 November, will be the Singaporean Chilli Crab burger – a whole panko-crumbed soft shell crab coated in Chilli Crab sauce served on a demi-brioche bun.
Singaporean hawker centres and memories of childhood flavours are the primary inspiration behind Lion City Kitchen’s flavours. Owner Sofia Nazalya created Lion City Kitchen after years of homesickness and a desire to bring the flavours of the Lion City to the masses of London.
On 4 November, Lion City Kitchen will be holding a launch party of its three-month residency at Rose & Crown. Diners can look forward to the launch item special, the Singaporean Chilli Crab burger, a broad selection of delicious craft beers and great tunes."
