Pretty F*cking Good Toast's Gourmet Toast Residency at Machine No 3 in Hackney

A gourmet toast pop-up is coming to Hackney.  More specifically, Pretty F*cking Good Toast (PFGT) is having a residency at Machine No. 3 in Well Street, serving Tuesdays to Saturdays from 5th October 2016.  All of the toast is sourdough, and the toppings are pretty advenurous, for example one has verbena harissa; walnuts; Gruyere melt; Dandelion on it.  There will also be lots f Beavertown beer to enjoy in the bar.  Haters gonna hate, but often there's nothing nicer than something delicious on toast, and I can't wait to try this one!

"Gourmet toast specialists Pretty F*cking Good Toast (PFGT) will be holding an evening pop-up residency at Machine No. 3 throughout October. The event is being held in collaboration with craft beer lords Beavertown brewery.
“Toast is our thing. But not just any toast… pretty f*cking good toast,” PFGT founder Dave Darmanin said. “We take all the ingredients, skill, finesse and twiddly-bits of fine dining, and serve it up on toasts so fancy you could wear them on your head at Ascot Ladies Day.”
Darmanin had a stint working at Noma, so you get the idea. Starting out 20 years ago cooking for the homeless in Malta, he studied culinary arts and hospitality management before he became a food writer by day and restaurant chef-owner by night. Chef Darmanin moved to London via cooking a lot of pasta in Italy. After sampling the street food scene here, he packed up his wooden spoons and hasn’t looked back.
“We're very excited about working with a chef who's worked at Noma here at Machine No. 3. Moreso when it's about taking a fine British staple like toast to the next level,” Machine No. 3 co-founder Lauren Johns said.
Machine No. 3 is a neighbourhood bar on Well Street in Homerton, from the creative minds behind The Three Compasses in Dalston – siblings Lauren and Antony Johns, and their French partner Briac Le Camus. The name is derived from the extraordinary setting of the bar – a dilapidated old laundry on the corner of Well Street which the trio have transformed into a bar.
"Well Street is a buzzing up-and-coming area in Hackney and we believe that offering a unique food product paired with Beavertown's expertly crafted beer will very much complement the vibe this area of London is getting so well know for.""
