Yelp's Saturday Afternoon MexiFest in Spitalfields


Yelp, the app that gives you the best local stuff to do, is holding a Mexican festival in Spitalfields on Saturday 10th September with KanKun sauces, with gorditas, torta pocket sandwiches, Mexican cheeses and iced paletas to mention a few, plus fashion, arts and games.  It runs from 12 noon to 6pm, and is free to get into, if you have the Yelp app on your phone.

"London’s Mexican scene goes far beyond just tequila and tacos, that’s why online urban city guide and app, Yelp is teaming up with award-winning KanKun sauces and the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain to show London the best of Mexico on your doorstep. MexiFest is taking over Spitalfields Market on 10th September to celebrate Mexican Independence Day.  
Yelp and KanKun are bringing together some of the capital’s most authentic Mexican providers for what is set to be London’s biggest free entry celebration of Mexican food, drink and culture. 
Sample traditional delights including gorditas, torta pocket sandwiches, Mexican cheeses and iced paletas to mention a few. You’ll also be able to immerse yourself in Mexican culture including fashion, arts, entertainment and games. There will even be giant piñatas and a replica luchador ring complete with traditional Mexican wrestlers.  
The event is free to enter by simply signing up to Yelp and checking-in on the app, or making a £10 charitable donation. This and some of the proceeds from the event will go to Misión México, who help orphaned children in Mexico. Once inside, there’ll be a number of free samples as well as the opportunity to buy all the delicious Mexican treats you can handle."
