'On the Roof with Q' Restaurant at Selfridges

This Summer Selfridges has opened a rooftop dining area, starting with Restaurant On The Roof With Q - above its store at 400 Oxford Street.  Go for anything from Breakfast to Lunch to  Afternoon Tea to Dinner.  Booking recommended for busy times like weekends.

Update - it's now been extended to 11th October 2014

"This summer, Selfridges has launched an exciting new rooftop concept that raises the stakes of rooftop experiences. ‘On The Roof with...’ will be a series of experiences that promise to surprise, amaze and amuse customers to Selfridges, every year.
Renowned restaurateur, Des McDonald, kicked off the project with On The Roof with Q and over 18 weeks will transport customers high above the streets of London, to a restaurant with lush herbaceous borders and dense foliage for a unique outdoor dining and drinking experience. The opening hours have now been extended to 11pm* making this secret rooftop garden the perfect after work venue.
Designed by Alexander Waterworth Interiors, the main inspiration for the venue is taken from grand Victorian greenhouses and combined with a more contemporary setting. Tables and relaxed seating are tucked away amongst lush herbaceous borders and dense foliage to create a fun and laidback atmosphere. Affording some of the best views over London’s iconic skyline, diners are protected from any sudden downpours by a retractable roof.
On the Roof with Q is set to be the al fresco-dining destination of the summer, the ideal venue to kick off the BBQ season and enjoy the sunshine in the heart of central London. It is open for late breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner seven days a week. The opening hours have now been extended to 11pm on Wednesday to Saturday, making it the perfect late night dinner and drinks destination. The kitchen is overseen by Lee Bull, Executive Chef of Des McDonald Restaurants, with Chris Dargavel, former Sous Chef of Le Caprice, as Head Chef.
Head Pastry Chef is Siobhan Ambrose, formerly of Scott’s.
The all-day menu offers the highest quality seasonal produce smoked, grilled and from a raw counter to discerning Londoners. Succulent meat dishes cooked over a charcoal grill (inspired by the newly opened Q Grill in Camden) feature alongside a lighter and healthier range of dishes to reflect the summer months."
