The 'Sauce de France' 5 Course Supper Club in Hackney

Chef Nick Stuart is on a mission to make London excited about French food again, and to do this he's holding a supper club on Thursday 17th October at Second Home in Hackney, showcasing a 5 course menu with the focus on French sauces.  Tickets are just £45 for the five courses, and Nick is also selling wine at £10-£15 on the night.  Sounds magnifique!

"Bonjour!
I'm Nick, I'm a chef and I'd like to invite you to the SAUCE DE FRANCE.
What's the premise of the event? Well, I feel French food currently has an unfairly poor rep. With it being trendy to say, 'French food is rich, stuck in the past and hasn't modernised' without any real qualification. Je dis non, non, non! French food is the best and we're going to celebrate this.
There will be 5 courses with the sauce as its focus each coming with a delicious side (I thought it would be fun to do it this way!). And the riders you'll be rooting for are: POULET JUS, BEURRE BLANC, BISQUE, CRÈME AU FROMAGE and CARAMEL. Along with a support team including crispy chicken thigh, cured salmon, duck liver parfait, cheese tartlet and tarte-tatin.
I've worked at some great restaurants in London (Hix, Marcus and currently Perilla) and also spent the last year in France, working in the mountains for winter, beautiful private houses in the South during summer and a 3 month stint at a Michelin starred restaurant in Paris. Now I'm back I'm keen to share my experiences with a meal to remember.
Before I forget...THE WINE. Don't worry there will be wine. I've 'sauced' some great bottles from The Somerset Wine Company and they will be available on the night for around £10-15."

Where - Second Home, 125–127 Mare St, E8 3SJ

Fat, bones, offal and all. Using both of their Norfolk and Polish heritage to create menus with both provenance and frugality over live fire."
