"The Grand Trunk Road supper club, a culinary journey from Kabul to Kolkata.
A six course menu traversing the ancient trade route of the Asian sub-continent. The menu traces the steps of merchant caravans journeying from Kabul, Afghanistan, through northern Pakistan, across India to the heart of West Bengal.
The GT Road supper club is a celebration of the Asian sub-continent’s vibrant culture. Heritage extends beyond a fixed place here, as customs intermingle through the exchange of food by diverse communities that live along the GT Road.
The menu features the culinary specialities along the route that have evolved through the migration of people and their food, shaping the dinner tables across the larger Asian sub-continent. Each dish recounts tales of the subain (regions) along the way, capturing their sense of place and history.
Held in Brixton, the heart of multicultural South London, the GT road supper club epitomises the very diversity of our modern lives. It comes to symbolise the thread that holds us together, our shared cultured found in our very differences.
Communal eating from sharing platters is what brings people together here where strangers from diverse communities congregate for their dinner."
