A Grape Night In's Unwined Wine Bar & Restaurant in Tooting

A Grape Night In, aka Laura & Kiki, have been running pop-up wine events in London since 2012.  Now, thanks to a Kickstarter campaign, they've got their first permanent space, a wine shop & bar in Tooting Market.  It's a permanent space, but they are running pop-uo events there, including regular 'Unwined Sessions' events on Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtimes, where food and wine are paired - links for tickets are below.

"After three years of popping-up all over London and a successful Kickstarter campaign, itinerant wine company A Grape Night In are settling into their first permanent home in Tooting Market, a wine shop, bar and kitchen called Unwined in Tooting.
Unwined is a labour of love from Laura Ward and Kiki Evans, co-founders of A Grape Night In. It is the culmination of the experiences they have had over the years of being a pop-up business. The girls fell in love with Tooting, tipped to be the next up-and-coming area of South London, over a year ago when out on a recce to see where they would like to set up home. Wanting (and waiting) to find an unlikely space was key to their concept and when a unit came available in the iconic Tooting Market they jumped at the opportunity.
As with their company's ethos the girls have created a welcoming, friendly and rustic venue where wine lovers can come to find and enjoy unique wines. White washed walls, wine bottles lights, a 'family wall' of photos, and a huge cork-topped tasting table combine to create a very relaxed and social space. In true A Grape Night In style, Unwined specialises in quirky wines from unheard of grape varieties, lesser known regions and engaging stories, alongside a range of craft beers and a sharing style menu.
From Monday to Wednesday Unwined focuses on the shop side, which showcases a minimum of 50 lines to take away or drink in, and shortly to host mid-week tastings. Towards the end of the week the space becomes more of a bar with a sharing style menu offered Thursday to Sunday and late night opening on Friday and Saturday nights.
Laura & Kiki are keen to maintain the evolving and changing nature of a pop-up and so will be offering eight featured wines every month available by the glass, inspired by a current topic (for example July's wines are inspired by the beach). In the kitchen the girls are inviting pop-up chefs to takeover the kitchen Thursday to Sunday for month-long residencies, while setting them the challenge to create a sharing menu to pair to the month's featured wines.
The bar seats 30 in total, but spill out space for drinking is in essence unlimited. Unwined takes reservations for groups of 6 or more, or guests can book on for The Unwined Sessions on Saturday night or Sunday lunch. The Unwined Sessions are a social wine and food tasting experience, hosted by the girls they include 4 courses of wines with paired dishes from the current resident chef. Tickets for The Unwined Sessions can be booked through Edible Experiences or at Unwined directly."
