"[East] London’s grilled cheese connoisseurs, Morty and Bobs’s, are moving their grilled cheese concept indoors as they launch their first pop-up this weekend at Off Broadway on Broadway Market, London Fields. Continuing on their mission to transform the humble cheese toasty, they will be serving up their ultimate British Grilled Cheese for the month of May.
They believe Britain makes some of the world’s best cheese, so after weeks of recipe testing and ‘cheesearch’, they’ve found the ultimate combination for ooze, stringiness and most importantly flavour, using cheeses from Neal’s Yard Dairy and produce from local businesses.
Morty and Bob’s month-long menu will include firm favourite, the ‘Straight-Up’; a unique three cheese blend, grilled in artisan sourdough and served with their secret M&B cheese sauce and a sprinkling of mixed onions. There will also be a selection of delicious fresh-fillings including 8 hour Pulled Pork, homemade BBQ sauce and onions, or Crispy Bacon with tomato and avocado salsa. Along with sweet potato fries, sauerkraut or a fresh salad-slaw, and everything, EVERYTHING comes with pickles.
Inspired by the classic American snack and a childhood obsession with melted cheese, Morty and Bob’s started their journey trading at Maltby Street Market until they were offered a permanent home at Netil Market Hackney, where they now have the Grilled Cheese Shack. Although they have only been trading for 6 months, they've already gained a loyal following for their high quality ingredients and reputation for curing the nastiest of hangovers."
