Sambal Shiok and Bitten & Written's Saturday Laksa Nights at The Newman Arms in Fitzrovia

Update - Many of the nights have sold out, but there will be room for a limited number of walk-ins on each night.  Great news!

This November and December Malaysian street food trader Sambal Shiok & wine expert Bitten & Written are taking over the dining room at The Newman Arms for six Saturday nights of Laksa and Riesling.  You need to book, but the laksa is just £10, and there are two sittings, at 5.30pm and 7.30pm.  This one is going to be a very hot ticket...

"For six nights only Sambal Shiok will be showcasing their prawn curry laksa at the Newman Arms in Fitzrovia. Zeren Wilson (Bitten & Written) is selecting a variety of Rieslings that will pair beautifully with the laksa.
This is Sambal Shiok’s first residency after two years in streetfood with their legendary satay and rendang offerings. Many people have been asking when we will offer a laksa, and here it is! Laksa Sambal Shiok-style is strong in aromatics, like lemongrass and laksa leaf, as well as having deep umami from belacan shrimp paste and a fresh chilli sambal created exclusively for Laksa Nights.
You will be able to enjoy Rieslings made by winemakers including Sybille Kuntz (Mosel, Germany), and Rolly Gassmann (Alsace, France) by the glass or bottle with our full strength prawn curry laksa (£10).
There will be two sittings each night, 5.30pm and 7.30pm with tables allocated for two hours.
Reservations essential. Wines are paid for on the night."
