You'll enjoy a Grey Goose Le Fizz and canapé reception as Rachel introduces the science behind flavour perception. She'll then invite you to take part in a series of tantalising experiments designed to demonstrate how our other senses affect the way we taste, and how genetics dictate many of our preferences.

After Hours Supper Club at Barnsbury Hall in Islington

Home & fashion store Aria is hosting a supper club on Thursday 11th July in its main retail space off Upper Street, with Finnish design brand Iittala and Hi Sushi Events.  It's a four course meal in very stylish surroundings, and you also get a very intriguing sounding goodie bag when you leave.  Either buy tickets from Edible Experiences or pop into the shop in person to buy tickets before the night.

"'Supper Club at Barnsbury Hall’ is the inaugural event in Aria's new 'After Hours' series. 'After Hours' reflects a change in how retail spaces are perceived and re-purposed. We invite people who are interested in both food and design to experience Aria's exquisite lifestyle store showroom as a restaurant, a music venue and lounge.
After closing time, our beautiful 150 year old hall will transform into an exclusive supper club, co-hosted by Finnish design brand Iittala and Hi Sushi Events. The result will be a highly crafted experience where food and drink integrate with design, making for a sublime evening to please the senses.
The evening starts with a relaxed reception in our lounge area, that includes a preview of Iittala's new Leimu lighting and beverages specially selected for the evening. Then guests will enjoy 4-course meal by Hi Sushi Events, purveyors of fine Japanese cuisine, specially designed around Iittala's timeless tableware settings. Guests will leave with a goody bag that includes a set of Iittala's ‘Essence Plus’ wine glasses and, what we hope is, a new perspective on how retail spaces are perceived and re-purposed now and in the future."

Where - Barnsbury Hall, Barnbury Street, Islington N1 1PN

Forza Win & The Ginger Pig present CUTS Pop-up Restaurant in East London

Update - see my photo review of the press night here

Big news!  Forza Win has teamed up with The Ginger Pig to create CUTS, a 30 day only combined pop-up with 4 courses (lamb, pork, beef and a dessert) in 'a disused pickle factory in East London'.  It starts on 25th July, and then it's every Thurs - Sun until late September.  Sounds amazing, and very #HotCakes so don't wait too long before you book this one!

"Take a seasonal supper club with a penchant for great Italian food and a business renowned for its meat. Add a huge, specially built wood-fired grill, an old warehouse in Hackney and 630kg of meat and you have CUTS, a 30-date collaboration between Forza Win and the Ginger Pig.
Each night guests will sit down to four courses; lamb, pork and beef, ending with an English take on an Italian pudding. Expect a couple of unusual but really delicious cuts – if pork rib eye sounds like your thing, you’re in business.
The menu leans towards gutsy Italian classics, big flavours, generous portions and simple execution, and a selection of Italianate cocktails, wine and beer will be available to ensure that no one goes thirsty. Supper will be served in The Pickle Factory, an old East End building with a quirky history, around an enormous communal table."

When - Thursday - Sunday from the 25 July - 22nd September

Where - 'a disused pickle factory in East London'

Tickets - £40 including an aperitivo, four generous courses and coffee from Billetto here Email CUTS at cuts@forzawin.com first to get a password

Link - Booking page - booking opens on Tuesday 2nd July
