The Second Annual Festival of Heat at Spitalfields City Farm


On Sunday 28th September, Spitalfields City Farm is holding its second Festival of Heat, featuring lots ot eat, taste, buy and see.  If you like chillis then this is the place to be!  No tickets - entry by donation on the door.

"Mercadito productions in conjunction with Spitalfields City Farm are proud to present the second 'Festival of heat' on Sunday September 28th 2014, at the Spitalfields city farm, Buxton Street, E1 5AR. 
Following on from the first Festival of Heat that brought together over 4,000 food lovers, this years festival will be again be celebrating the business of eating, cooking and growing this wonderful culinary vegetable through various cultural perspectives. Attendees will be able to take part in cooking demonstrations with food experts from Mexico, Sri Lanka and the UK, and participate in debate led-workshops. For those who want to take a piece of the action home with them, there will be a wide array of fresh chilli products from international & UK local organic producers on display.
Rossana Leal, event coordinator said ' We're very exited by our line up this year. Chilli lovers will have an opportunity to explore their passion with like-minded folks.We're delighted to be working with producers and keen chilli growers who'll be exploring the best way to grow at home, whilst providing a unique opportunity to savour many tantalising forms of preparing this beautiful vegetable."

Sri Lankan Pickles & Preserves, Mushemi Fire Ltd: Zambian Chilli Products, The Chilli Hut Wilshire: Chilli farm products, Grim Reaper Foods Ltd : Chilli sauces, jams, mustards, Burning Desire Foods: Chilli Butters, Twisted 7 Sauces Ltd: Kent Chilli products, Cathy Hotlips: Ugandan Hand Made Artisan Chilli sauce, Capsicana Chilli Oil Company & Hotheadz Sauces & Preserves. 
We aim to explore as many imaginative forms of using the worlds favourite ingredient, as possible!"
Alongside tasty treats and chilli growing-tip workshops from the Coriander Club, Sea Seed Springs, Organic Lea and the Tower Hamlets food network, there will be live folk music from East End folk bands and much more for people of all ages to enjoy."
