A pub quiz night with some important differences: First, the quiz master is Mr Nice, aka Hoaward Marks. Second, it incorporates a four course menu from Carl Clarke's Disco Bistro EC4 at The Rising Sun pub in The City (previously), including 'a homage to Findus' crispy pancakes, and take-away munchie bags. It's on Wednesday 27th, tickets are £140 for a team of 4, and go on sale on Friday 8th March at 10am. It's bound to be a scramble to get tickets - if this is your (dime) bag, don't miss it!
"On the evening of Wednesday 27 March special guest Howard Marks (AKA Mr. Nice) hosts Disco Bistro EC4's first quiz night. Marks has been described by The Guardian as "notoriously well-versed in sex and drugs and rock 'n' roll", so what better theme for a night of great food, good company and plenty of laughs?
'Mr. Nice' - a nickname adopted from one of his many aliases in the 80s, Donald Nice - has had a varied career, forging a path from drug baron to best-selling author to DJ and crime novelist, generating a wealth of stories along the way. Used to recounting these tales to packed-out theatres, Marks' quiz night offers a unique opportunity for music buffs and 'high-minded' hedonists to enjoy quality time with one of Britain's most engaging humorists.
With room for just 12 teams of four, guests are advised to pick their teammates wisely! The winning team will be awarded £100, while the top runner-up will receive a signed copy of one of Marks' books. Tickets are £140 per team (£35 per head), which includes a special four course menu featuring an 'edible spliff' and an Italian American inspired rose veal parm (as made famous by The Sopranos).
