Grey Goose's 3 Day Pop-up Boulangerie François in Shaftesbury Avenue

Grey Goose is demonstrating its Frenchness by opening an French Bakery in Shaftesbury Avenue - near to Cambridge Circus - for three days at the end of November.  All breads will be baked with the same wheat used to make the vodka.

"Grey Goose are opening a pop up artisanal bakery called Boulangerie François, from 9am-6pm, 28-30 November at 136 Shaftesbury Avenue..
Boulangerie Francois will serve bread made from the same soft winter wheat from Picardie used to create Grey Goose vodka.
This unique 'Grey Goose Pain' will be accompanied by 'Grey Goose Confiture', specially made jams created using the flavoured Grey Goose vodkas: L'Orange, Le Citron & La Poire. Using only the finest French ingredients, Boulangerie Francois aims to deliver the ultimate taste experience straight from heart of Cognac.
Grey Goose Creator, François Thibault, flew beyond the norm and defied expectations when he set out to create a luxury vodka with taste in the Cognac region. With this same FLY BEYOND spirit, Grey Goose invites visitors to experience Boulangerie François."

'School Dinners' Food & Talks near Old Street

School Dinners is back, with its blend of fine food and interesting speakers, this time with comedian Gemma Whelan hosting, and Joe Dunthorne (writer of the novel & film Submarine) as main speaker.  No menu as yet, but it's unlikely to be spotted dick!

"Following a successful first edition, SCHOOL DINNERS returns to the Central Foundation Boys’ School in Shoreditch on 30th November, taking guests ‘back to school’ for an exquisite four course meal topped off by music, entertainment and performances from some of the nations finest and funniest minds.
This term's timetable sees actress and comedian Gemma Whelan (Game Of Thrones, One Man Two Guvnors) hosting, reprising her celebrated role as hilarious Headmistress, Chastity Butterworth. Award-winning ‘Submarine’ author Joe Dunthorne steps up as Head of English for the evening whilst Music And Movement is in the incomparable (thank goodness) hands of tap-dancing enthusiast Jenny Fawcett (comedian Louise Ford) who'll teach us the 'scuff and brush'. Over in Poetry Corner will be the slam poet champion and poetry workshop facilitator Hollie McNish. More incredible teachers, speakers and raconteurs will be announced in the coming weeks.
School Dinners is brought to you by the people behind London's best literary event, Book Slam, and masters of the pop-up, Cult Events. Fuelled by the belief that education can be wasted on the young, SCHOOL DINNERS will be a unique night of gastronomy and enlightenment, while also providing much-needed funds for an impressive local school."

When - Saturday 30th November, 6.30pm - 10.30pm

Where - Central Foundation Boys' School , Cowper Street EC2A 4SH

Christabel's Mad Hatters Sunday Brunch in Hoxton

Next Sunday 17th November Christabel is holding another Mad Hatters Brunch Party at her flat in Hoxton overlooking the Regent's Canal.  I've heard very good things about these - and it's less than £20 per head (and it's BYOB)

"I have big weakness for a hearty brunch as well as a minor obsession with the quirky mis-match and surreal world of Alice in Wonderland. So, what better way to combine these two fetishes than with a mad hatters brunch party? And when you're overlooking the canal and the rooftops of East London, your imagination will transport you even further!
Pancakes with crispy bacon and maple syrup, toast with marmalade and bacon, scones with cheddar cheese and chutney are but a few of the tried and tested, weird and wonderful concoctions that I will be whipping up.
I will be using the completely delicious and unique chutneys from Rubies in the Rubble and the tea is courtesy of Tea Pigs.
The ticket price includes brunch fit for a king and a mad hatters cocktail on arrival."

When - Sunday 17th November 12pm - 3pm

Where - Flat 10 Gainsborough Studios East Side, 1 Poole Street, N1 5ED

Tickets - £17.50 from Grub Club here + it's BYOB
