Greenhill Kitchen's Rasovara Indian Supper Clubs in Waterloo

"After success of running innovative pop-up kitchens in Mumbai, Flora Hilleary and Aditi Dugar will be scenting the streets of London with their spices for a special Rajasthani supper club.
Rasovara means 'royal kitchen' in the local language, and the concept for this supper club was formed from the creative duo's love of the food that is local to India’s largest state, Rajasthan. With the arid Thar dessert to the West and luscious fertile fields to the East, Rajasthan offers an amazing medley of dishes steeped in history and comprising of fascinating ingredients.
Aditi’s family is from Rajasthan, and like all true Rajasthani’s, are gourmands through and through. Flora has spent much time in the larger cities of Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur, training chefs in the top hotels.
Rasovara will be original and promises to offer vegetarian and meat Indian food like you have never tasted before in London.  With the freshest spices brought in by hand from India and local British ingredients that will have you yearning for more. The Dressing Room's Salmagundi Supper Clubs at Palm2 in Clapton

Next Weds and Thurs 7th & 8th May The Dressing Room takes over the Palm2 space in Clapton for two nights of salad-based dining from chef Tom Sarafian, a resident chef of Moro in Exmouth Market.  ('Dressing Room' / 'Salad' - geddit?)  It's 6 courses, with both meat eating and vegetarian / vegan versions - and gluten or dairy free are also available.  Welcome to a truly healthy pop-up!

"The Dressing Room tosses the traditional salad to the side, stabs Caesar in the back, checks out of the Waldorf and pops up in East London.
A tasty rebuttal to the idea that salads are solely for the health conscious,The Dressing Room serves filling and delicious dishes full of inventive textures and ingredient combinations, with an emphasis on the dressing. The clue is in the name. Everything comes with DIY dressings for the diner to complete the dish themselves.
The menu has been crafted by Tom Sarafian, who is by day a resident chef of Moro, Exmouth Market. With previous stints at the Michelin starred restaurants St John and Petersham Nurseries, Tom is committed to fresh and contemporary dishes that give a playful nod to the past.
The Dressing Room's seasonal menu is an inspired twist on Salmagundi, a hearty, 17th century English dish of meats, seafood, vegetables, leaves, fruits, nuts, flowers and dressings.
All dishes can be prepared as vegetarian, gluten and/or dairy free on request. Additional drinks are available to purchase but please note we are only able to accept cash on the night."

Morty & Bob's Grilled Cheese Residency on Broadway Market

Sometimes there's nothing better than cheese on toast.  So I'm very excited to hear about Morty & Bob's month-long residency at the Off Broadway bar in Broadway Market.  See the picture above to see what I mean.  We've seen Mac & Cheese cause a sensation in London, and I think this could too...

"[East] London’s grilled cheese connoisseurs, Morty and Bobs’s, are moving their grilled cheese concept indoors as they launch their first pop-up this weekend at Off Broadway on Broadway Market, London Fields. Continuing on their mission to transform the humble cheese toasty, they will be serving up their ultimate British Grilled Cheese for the month of May.
They believe Britain makes some of the world’s best cheese, so after weeks of recipe testing and ‘cheesearch’, they’ve found the ultimate combination for ooze, stringiness and most importantly flavour, using cheeses from Neal’s Yard Dairy and produce from local businesses.
Morty and Bob’s month-long menu will include firm favourite, the ‘Straight-Up’; a unique three cheese blend, grilled in artisan sourdough and served with their secret M&B cheese sauce and a sprinkling of mixed onions. There will also be a selection of delicious fresh-fillings including 8 hour Pulled Pork, homemade BBQ sauce and onions, or Crispy Bacon with tomato and avocado salsa. Along with sweet potato fries, sauerkraut or a fresh salad-slaw, and everything, EVERYTHING comes with pickles.
Inspired by the classic American snack and a childhood obsession with melted cheese, Morty and Bob’s started their journey trading at Maltby Street Market until they were offered a permanent home at Netil Market Hackney, where they now have the Grilled Cheese Shack. Although they have only been trading for 6 months, they've already gained a loyal following for their high quality ingredients and reputation for curing the nastiest of hangovers."

When - From Fri 2nd May until the end of May, Wed – Mon, Kitchen open 6pm -10pm
(Noon - 10pm at the weekends)

Where - Off Broadway, 63-65 Broadway Market, London E8 4PH

Birds Eye Inspirations' 'Pay with Instagram' Picture House Pop-up Restaurant in Covent Garden

Over the past couple of years we've seen a Kellogg's shop where you pay with a tweet, and a bar where you can extend happy hour by posting an Instagram pic.  Now for the first time ever there's a restaurant where you pay with a tagged Instagram picture (but also Facebook and Twitter - you don't need to have Instagram!).  Birds Eye are opening this for two hours only on Wednesday 14th May, and you can find out how to get tickets below.  You've got two weeks to practice your Instagramming / picture taking!

"For the first time, a unique modern concept restaurant will be unveiled, which boasts the only ‘pay-by-picture’ currency system in the world. The Birds Eye Inspirations Picture House will open its doors on Wednesday 14th May at IceTank in London to mark the launch of Inspirations – the food brand’s premium range.
The Picture House will be popping up in London for a limited time before heading north and offers a modern and innovative dining experience for food lovers and social media enthusiasts alike. Following a two-course meal, courtesy of Birds Eye, diners can settle the bill simply by taking a picture of their dinner, uploading it to social media platform Instagram (or other channels) and captioning the food photo with the hashtag #BirdsEyeInspirations.
On the night, guests can select meals from the Birds Eye Inspirations menu including Fish Chargrills and Chicken Inspirations before enjoying dessert and complimentary drinks. The Picture House launch will also be hosted by top food blogger, Marie Marte, who will share insight and tips on how to take the perfect food photo, touching on the ‘food-ography’ trend currently sweeping social media.
There are a limited number of bookings available for The Picture House. To be in with a chance of dining at the world’s first pay-by-picture restaurant, email BirdsEyeInspirations@theenginegroup.com with your name and contact details. Those successful will be notified with details on 9th May 2014."

When - Wednesday 14th May, 7pm - 9pm

Where - IceTank 5-7 Grape Street, Covent Garden, London, London, WC2H 8DW

Tickets - It's free, in exchange for a photo, but spaces are limited, so apply by emailing BirdsEyeInspirations@theenginegroup.com with your name and contact details. Those successful will be notified with details on 9th May 2014
