The Disappearing Dining Club's Dinners at Town House in Spitalfields

The Disappearing Dining Club, who run the 'Back in 5 Minutes' secret restaurant on Brick Lane, are holding dinners twice a month in a restored 18th century house in Fournier Street.  Dinners take place on the second and fourth Friday of each month, and note that the space is also available for private hire.

"Town House is a beautiful 18th century weaver’s house on Fournier Street, opposite Hawksmoor’s Christ Church in Spitalfields.
The building has been a doctor’s surgery, a furrier, coffee rooms and storage for the vegetable market, until at the end of the Second World War it became the Market Cafe, which closed in 2000. It’s now an antiques shop, gallery, café, and has rooms above for weekends of East London shopping.
Dinner is a welcome cocktail, three courses and half a bottle of wine per guest. Dishes are served supper club style, to be shared by friends and strangers, surrounded by antique furniture and upholstery, old china, glasses, serving dishes, jewellery and colourful modern pottery."

When - 2nd & 4th Friday of each month

Where - Town House, 5 Fournier St, London E1 6QE

Tickets - £60 from Disappearing Dining Club here

Guest Post - Supper Clubs and Food Pop-ups Wanted by Bar in Hackney Central

I've just been told about a new space available for food pop-ups to use.  This is good news, as I'm asked about this a lot!  Bar Kino in Morning Lane, Hackney is a big-ish space (up to 70 covers) with its own kitchen that is potentially available for some evenings during the week, and daytimes at the weekend.  More details:

"To supplement our current menu we are looking to dedicate the kitchen 2 to 3 nights a week as well as potentially weekend days to pop ups and supper clubs. We would like to provide a space that can serve as an ongoing showcase of different culinary talent. We also have a downstairs with projector and screen for cinema or a/v events and a late licence if necessary.

It has a Buffalo 6-range hob & oven, microwave, and Panasonic convection oven/grill, plus enamelware for serving.  We will still run the bar, and will get the takings from that.  We would also ask for a nominal deposit on the kitchen. Depending on numbers/takings, everything is negotiable."

Where - 177-179 Morning Lane, E9 6LH

Matilda & Quinn's Pop-up Shop near Bond Street

Matilda & Quinn has opened a pop-up shop in St Christopher's Place, following the success of their earlier pop-up in Marylebone.  Alongside their collections, they'll be showcasing some great independent London brands including Rachel Orme and Esin Akan bags, Charlotte Valkeniers jewellery and Peponita shoes.

"Matilda & Quinn is the go-to brand for the multi-scenario dress. The brand reinvents classic shapes with a quirky modern twist in unusual textures and rich bursts of colour.  It is unsurprising that the brand's demure and stylish dresses have harnessed a loyal following amongst a host of celebrities including BBC Breakfast's Louise Minchin, Lorraine Kelly and Kate Garraway.
Matilda & Quinn's garments create a balance between what is wearable and flattering but also stylish and individual. The brand also produces very limited edition occasion wear pieces in each Collection - perfect for Summer weddings and the Races.
Central to the brand is its British ethos and commitment to local production. All Collections are made here in London cementing Matilda & Quinn’s credentials as the ethical, sophisticated and luxurious choice for the modern woman."

When - 10th April - 30th May

Where - 23 St Christopher's Place, London W1U 1NR
