Pizza Pilgrims' Forza Win Rooftop Pizza off Brick Lane

Update - this was 2012, but you can sist their new collaboration in 2016

One of the trends with pop-ups is things opening for an entire season.  A very tasty-sounding addition to the summer season inn London is this Thursday - Saturday rooftop pizza supper club from streetfood regulars Pizza Pilgrims.  Taking a cue from supper clubs it's pre-booking only, and the location is kept secret until you've booked.

"ForzaWin is a new rooftop supper club with awesome city views, unique entertainment and specially selected drinks. On our rooftop we’ve built a Pompeii pizza oven with Terry (the chap in our video and founder of the UK woodfired oven forum)
Located just off Brick Lane, we’ll be serving a three course Italian meal including traditional Neapolitan Pizza from Pizza Pilgrims. This will be washed down with the fantastic new British craft lager, Saint, and plenty of Aperol Spritz.
Every night will be accompanied by unique entertainment, from music to beer and pizza matching - all against the backdrop of the City of London.
We launch on 30th June and are running Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until the end of September."

Bold Tendencies is free to visit and has welcomed audiences from local residents
to international tourists. Press feedback has been universally positive, and leading figures from the art world have offered their praise.

Niko B's 'Taste of Independence' Chocolate Supper Club in Dalston

Chocolatier Anthony Ferguson is back with his Niko B supper club - where all the dishes are based around chocolate.  This month the theme is independence, specifically taking inspiration from four countries celebrating their independence in July.

"A year ago, Niko B created Cocoa Club, the first dessert only supperclub, turning their love and award-winning skills in chocolate and confectionery into a 4‐course 100% dessert menu inspired by seasons and celebrations.  Over the last year at their Chocolate Lab, they have served beautifully crafted, exotically flavoured desserts like their Chocolate, Pine Nut & Grappa Torte, Flaming Chocolate Mousse with Fig Leaf Syrup and Pomegranate Gelato with Pink Peppercorns.
For this birthday, Niko B are returning to the theme of their first ever Cocoa Club, Independence Day around the world.  The inspiration for each dessert course will be taken from countries celebrating liberation in July and the choice is rich - Argentina, Algeria, United States and Suriname."

Chase And Country Tails Terrace at Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge

A special terrace bar has opened on the 5th floor at Harvey Nichols, to make the most of the (hopefully) summery weather.  Perfect for cocktails, but also ideal for lunch or dinner.

"Created by Chase Distillery, the terrace will have a traditional English country look and feel, inspired by the Herefordshire countryside where the distillery is based. A refreshing, citrus aroma of Penhaligons Blenheim Bouquet will scent the air, creating the perfect atmosphere to sip summery cocktails in the heart of Knightsbridge.
A bespoke cocktail list using Chase Distillery’s range of pioneering British spirits has been created by Dominic Jacobs, Fifth Floor Bar Manager, and includes Gooseflower Fizz (Chase Vodka combined with Chase Elderflower Liqueur, Harvey Nichols Gooseberry Jam, lemon and honey topped with English Sparkling Wine) and the utterly refreshing Marmalade Root Martini (Chase Marmalade Vodka shaken with fresh carrot juice, fresh parsley and lemon, with a dash of honey) alongside summer fruit cups and Chase Perfect Serves.
Jonas Karlsson, Fifth Floor Executive Chef has also put together a selection of mini tasting dishes, inspired by the fruity aromas of the spirits, as well as a ‘best of British’ sharing platter that includes Alderton marmalade ham, Honey cured Dorset ham, Harvey Nichols mini pork pies, Scotch quail eggs, Cornish Yarg cheese, Lincolnshire Cheddar and English mustard. To finish, a trio of miniature desserts includes dark chocolate and marmalade cake, lemon curd tart and Bramley apple and elderflower crumble. The StockMKT Night Market in Bermondsey

Bermondsey Night market The StockMKT is back with a two night special on the final Thursday and Friday of June.  Inspired by the night markets of the Far East, it's a mix of eating and shopping, with a very cool vibe.

"So what ‘s new at the June StockMKT double header?
A different programme each night but with some common themes:
Healthy stuff: More delicious street eats from summer-friendly and lighter Eastern-inspired traders Bangwok, Bibimbap and Pom Pom Takoyaki representing Thailand, Korea & Japan. We’ve also got Vegan Peasant doing veggie gourmet to tempt even the staunchest carnivore.
Bad (meaning good) stuff: And, if the idea of ‘healthy’ frightens you, don’t panic we’ll have some of the dirtiest burgers (from Mother Flipper), pulled pork (from African Volcano), and the most fantastic array of sausages products known to humankind.
Liquid stuff: What’s the hottest (cold) drink in London this summer? That’s right Sherry. You didn’t know? Well you do now. So we’ve got Stylist wine writer / FT contributor and all round wine popularising good egg Jane Parkinson doing 21st century Sherry tasting.
Classy stuff: Last time Kamm and Sons’ ginseng cocktails were a smash and while they return, this time we also have London’s coolest gin makers and shakers, Sparrow London Dry Gin bringing their 50s inspired set to the Square.
Sweet stuff: Proper ice cream, sherbets and sorbets from Sorbitium, Bea of Bloomsbury debuting her Lolly Cart, and old-fashioned milkshakes from Retro Shakes. And cakes a-plenty from the scrumptious Sweet Tooth Factory, Crumbs and Doilies and Chai Cupcakes!
Take home stuff: We have a jewellery cluster, to-die-for Dutch bikes and hand made home accessories, loads of upcycled vintage wear from new stallholders supporting Mary Portas’ ‘Lover Your Local Market’ concept.
Ear stuff: Albert Ball’s Flying Aces are back but we also have some quirky new friends on the bill, throwing their musical magic into the mix!"

The Wonder Hill Handmade and Vintage Market in London Bridge

Wonder Hill is a regular market, appearing on the last Saturday of every month in London Bridge.  Well worth a visit, and near enough to the Borough and Maltby Street markets to combine into a fun morning or afternoon.

"Wonder Hill provides a platform for local designer makers and vintage collectors to showcase and sell their wares. Supporting an ethical standpoint everything is created in the UK or sustainably sourced and offers a fun alternative to high street shopping being based in a pub with a sunny beer garden, great food and cake!
In March we return once more to our wonderfully eclectic home of the Miller. A place that has brought us sunshine, smiles, barbeques, one afternoon tipple too many and an abundance of wonderful traders and shoppers.
Our traders often tell us, its like going home at the end of each month (yes, we run every last saturday of each month at this location!) Which is rather lovely! However that said, we do offer a different range of traders each and every month, so its always a different show for you lovely shoppers.
We were originally set up to offer an alternative to high street shopping - you wont find mass produced items here, made unethically and then transported unethically across seas to our high streets. What you will find is individually made items, created by hand in the UK, mostly even in the local areas in London, along with a series of upcycled and vintage clothing and accessories. Ugly Fish Friday Pop Up in Whitecross Street Market near Moorgate

This is an excellent one-off event - a pop-up food stall to promote 'ugly fish' and encourage people to eat a wider range of fish.

"Following the success of its Ugly Fish Fridays, launched as a stand against the fishing quota system that sees dead fish thrown back into the sea; niche City caterer Lusso is staging an “Ugly Fish Friday Pop Up” at Whitecross Street Market in London on Friday 6th July.
Assisted by BBC 2′s “The Fisherman’s Apprentice”; Monty Halls, and his fisherman mentor Nigel Legge, Lusso’s expert chefs will produce street food that’s elite food with a lunch-time pop up stall serving a range of delicious fish dishes using sustainable species of fish landed by Nigel in the  Cadgwith Cove in Cornwall the previous day. The stall will start serving lunch from 11 am and will continue until they run out of fish.
Less well-known and fashionable than their more glamorous but increasingly overfished cousins, Lusso’s Ugly Fish are as good to eat as they are unlovely to look at.  Most importantly, they are all species on the Marine Stewardship Council’s approved list of sustainable fish."

When - Friday 6th July

'Around The World in One Plate' Supper Club in Hoxton

This intriguing idea - taking ingredients sourced from over ten different countries - will create the menu for the London Foodies Supper Club in Hoxton later this month.  To attend you first need to tweet your interest to @foodundearthed  The chef is Tim Anderson, who also cooked at the excellent Delicious by DS5 last month

"Boasting an eclectic mix of unusual ingredients from countries such as Greece, Italy, Iberia, China, New Zealand, Ecuador and South Africa, MasterChef 2011 winner, Tim Anderson has teamed up with foodie explorers unearthed® to create the first-ever culinary tour around the world on one plate.
Inspired by a snack from Anderson’s childhood in America, the s’more – a campfire treat made by sandwiching toasted marshmallows between two biscuits with a piece of chocolate – the ‘Around the World on One Plate’ recipe is a savoury interpretation of this snack and features a savoury marshmallow on a biltong twig, served with loin of lamb and dressed with a rich chocolate and port sauce.
Anderson worked closely with unearthed® to create the unique savoury marshmallow blend, a hero ingredient within the dish, using its Greek Goat’s Milk Balls.   Tim Anderson comments: “I love experimenting with ingredients and was really excited about the idea of creating a savoury version of a well known American campfire treat.
“Trying to source the appropriate ingredients to ensure we got the correct consistency for the savoury marshmallow was a really exciting challenge and the unearthed® Goat’s Milk Balls were the perfect texture and flavour to compliment the lamb and chocolate.”
Simon Day, Brand Manager at unearthed® comments: “If you are a keen explorer and love unearthing new flavours and cuisines than this is the perfect dish for you!  Some of the finest quality ingredients from around the world have been used to create the ultimate worldly experience that you can replicate in the comfort of your own kitchen.” "

The Big Smoke BBQ in Fulham

The Big Smoke Barbecue is popping up at The Elk Bar near Fulham Broadway this summer.

"The Big Smoke BBQ is set to arrive in London, bringing the best of al-fresco cooking to Fulham with the first ever use of the ground-breaking Primo BBQ in the capitol. Promising to serve an array of summer favourites and several innovative tobacco and beer infused cocktails for a BBQ unlike any other seen before.
A delicious selection of barbeque classics with a twist will be cooked on London’s first Primo XL, the world’s finest ceramic BBQ. Andy Annat, three times British BBQ champion and UK Ambassador for Primo BBQ, will be bringing “the world’s most versatile BBQ” to The Big Smoke. He states that it not only has a “ceramic grill that uses charcoal rather than gas for a better flavour, but it can also be used for baking items such as bread” and finally, Andy’s speciality, “it can perfectly smoke food at low or high temperatures”. The Primo retains heat for up to 12 hours locking in the moisture and flavour ensuring delicious and tender meat. Head Chef Paul Sowden will also use wood chips from a variety of trees giving the food different flavours, or even from Jack Daniels barrels resulting in a delicious whiskey hint to the succulent meat.
Brought to London by Mint Group, proprietors of some of London's most popular hot spots, The Big Smoke will be located in the stylish garden of Elk Bar, a West London institution. Enclosed in an authentic wooden smoke shack, guests can relax on rustic benches, surrounded by exotic plants and bright umbrellas, transporting them to a holiday destination despite being in the busy capital.
Everyone loves a beer to go with their barbeque so The Big Smoke bar will also be serving a revolutionary selection of beer and tobacco-infused cocktails. These will include The Ginger Bread Ale Flip containing Meantime Pale Ale, Bacardi OakHeart spiced rum, Ginger Syrup, a dash of sours and finished with Ground Nutmeg and an Old Fashioned made with Jack Daniels No.7 and a new ingredient in the form of Perique tobacco liqueur. Or, not for the faint hearted, try The Mad Dog, a powerful concoction served in a giant martini glass filled with frozen margarita and two bottles of Corona beer upturned into the glass."
