Paralympic Nights at Jimmy's Supper Club at Annex East in Stratford

Jimmy's Supper Club at Annex East has been a big hit, both in terms of sold out nights and also the delicious food served.  It's located in Stratford, less than 5 seconds (if you're Usain Bolt) from one of the trade entrances, and has just announced new events to tie in with the Paralympic Games.  See below for details of lots more brilliant nights.

Leyton Technical Olympic Pop-up Pub in Leyton

Antic, who own a number of great pubs and bars including the Dogstar in Brixton, the Tooting Tram and Social and the Battersea Mess and Music Hall, are opeing a new pop-up pub in Leyton for the duration of the Olympics.

"Antic brings to Leyton their own celebration of the Olympics in the form of ‘Leyton Technical’, a ‘pop-up-pub’ (P U P) in the beautiful LMO building on Leyton High Street, screening live games everyday from the opening ceremony right through to the closing event.
Come down and watch all the events while sampling some of the great ales, wines and spirits Antic have become known for. All ales have been carefully chosen from local London Breweries to be rotated throughout the games. These include; Redemption, ELB, London Fields, Moncada, Hackney Brewery, Windsor and Eaton, By the Horns and Beavertown Brewery.
With the games showing from the minute we open the doors to the minute we close, on two huge screens, there’s now no need for you to miss anything."

Raw & Elliot's Burger and Wine Pop-up in Borough Market

Like a glass of wine with your burger?  For the duration of the Olympics Elliot's cafe in Stoney Street will be playing host to Raw, the artisan wine fair, to offer fine burgers and fine wine.

"As London gears up for weeks of sporting prowess, RAW will be popping up nightly in the form of a natural wine burger bar at Borough Market. 
We have joined forces with the phenomenal Elliot's Café, who ran the hugely popular English oyster shucking stall at the fair, and who are also officially one of the best burger joints in London.
Described as “outfitted in the manner of French onion soup” with its “plump patty of aged beef, beer-braised onions, aged Comté and linseed brioche bun brushed with acidulated dill butter”, all sourced from Borough Market itself, the burgers are wonderfully delicious and we’re delighted to be able to work with a team as committed to community, sustainability and proper food & drink, as we are.
All wines featured at the pop-up come from vineyards that came to RAW in May or will be coming to our next edition in spring 2013. There will even be one of our growers stopping by on the 1st August, if you fancy meeting him in person.
The menu is simple – burgers. Take away or eat in.
The wine list is a little more complex as it will change regularly so pop along and find out.
Prices start from £15 for a burger with chips and a glass of wine."

Pop-up Olympic National Venues in London

Several nations are opening special centres where fans can go and watch and celebrate together.  Here are a few:

THESE pop-up venues at two iconic London locations will feature giant screens showing all the action, plus food and drink and themed entertainment.
King’s Cross will be the place for post-Olympic parties, thanks to its 3am licence, with top DJs including Ollie Humphreys and Zeb Wayne.

The Maddox Club Pop-up at Forman's Fish Island near the Olympic Stadium

Forman's Fish Island is billing itself as the closest restaurant to the Olympic Stadium, and is opening a special pop-up venue, The Maddox Club, for the duration of the Olympic and Paralympic games.  It's at the expensive end of what I feature on the site, but I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time!

"Forman’s Fish Island teamed up with the Mayfair hangout to create a pop-up beach bar version of the club at its Forman’s Fish Island Riviera hospitality venue for the 17 days of the Olympics.
Maddox Club was founded by nightclub proprietor Fred Moss – founder of China White and Movida – in 2007.
Moss will recreate the atmosphere of the club at Fish Island Riviera, a riverside location opposite the stadium complete with beach volleyball court, palm trees, cocktails and food.
He said: "A sporting event the Olympics may well be, but it’s also the world’s biggest society and social event. London has to show that its hospitality can be the best of the best. At Maddox Club we’ve created something very special and we will be bringing that magic to Fish Island Riviera where I know our clientele will want to party during London 2012."  
Lance Forman of Forman’s Fish Island added: "Our partnership with Maddox Club confirms Fish Island as the VIP side of the Olympics. We’ve already hosted 80 per cent of the VIP parties in the run up to the Games and we expect to be hosting athletes celebrating their successes with medals on display, celebrities and media stars throughout the event itself."
He continues: "As we are only a 3 minute walk from the Stadium, with car drop off, pre-booked parking and water transport, this is the Green Room at Games Time. If guests want to experience the fun of the Olympics, soak up the atmosphere and watch the fireworks, they can do all this at Fish Island Riviera and don’t even need a ticket to the sports" "

'A Taste of Noma' Pop-up Restaurant at Claridges

Noma, the Copenhagen restaurant that has held the title of 'world's best restaurant' for the past two years is opening a pop-up in Claridges to coincide with The Olympics.

"We are delighted to welcome René Redzepi, head chef of Noma in Copenhagen to Claridge’s to create "A Taste Of Noma at Claridge’s".   
Twice voted best restaurant in the world at the ‘World's 50 Best Restaurant Awards’ (2010 and 2011), Redzepi has sparked a cultural revolution with his focus on foraging and the reinterpretation of Nordic cuisine.
For ten days this summer, René Redzepi will be creating a five course menu at Claridge’s which will reflect his signature flavours and dishes from Noma, using local, seasonal British ingredients.
“A Taste of Noma at Claridge’s” will be available for both lunch and dinner in Claridge’s Ballroom from 28th July to 6th August 2012, where René Redzepi will be in attendance every day, together with his team of chefs from Noma.  
The five course menu is priced at £195 per person."

Flight BA2012 Pop-up Olympic Venue & Experience in Shoreditch

This is the first of many expected 'Olympic' pop-ups.  BA are creating a special lounge in East London to get people into the Olympic mood, including their new airline food, and a couple of very special films.  At £50 a head this isn't cheap, but I think it'll be a very hot ticket.

"British Airways will launch an exclusive airline themed pop-up venue – ‘Flight BA2012’, celebrating the best in British talent in the run up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.  Open on select weekdays from April 4 to 17, the three-in-one art gallery, cinema and dining lounge will showcase the works of the BA Great Britons who were mentored by Richard E Grant, Tracey Emin and Heston Blumenthal.
Great Britons Prasanna Purwanarajah, Pascal Anson and Simon Hulstone have created Olympic Games themed work, including a short-film, a ‘Dove’ artwork livery for celebratory aircraft and a bold British menu.
The airline-themed venue hosted in East London, has been exclusively designed to recreate a premium flying experience, and will offer guests a sneak preview of the Great Britons works before they are rolled out on flights from April. Flight BA2012 includes artwork from artist-designer Pascal Anson from Brighton, who was mentored by Tracey Emin on his ‘Dove’ design for a range of celebratory aircraft displayed in the gallery.  It also features short film ‘BOY’ starring Timothy Spall, written by screenwriter Prasanna Purwanarajah under the mentorship of Richard E Grant, which will be screened in the cinema. Guests will also be able to sample a bold British menu created by Michelin-star chef Simon Hulstone, who has produced an Olympic Games inspired menu under the guidance of Heston Blumenthal.
Frank van der Post, British Airways managing director of brands and customer experience, said: “We wanted to bring the flying experience to the public, allowing guests to preview our in-flight entertainment, celebratory aircraft livery and on-board menus in anticipation of the London 2012 Games. This is going to be an exciting year for the capital and this is just the very start of our take-off!”
