WingJam 2019 - The 3 Day Rooftop Wings Festival in Peckham

Wingjam, the 3 day rooftop chicken wing festival, is coming to Peckham next weekend, from Friday 5th - Sunday 7th July 2019.  Tickets are just £13.50, and that gets you onto the rooftop where you can join in the fun of £1 wings, and bars from Bulleit Frontier Whiskey and Goose Island (it is Independence weekend after all).  There will be 30 wing slingers, including Guinea Fowlers, The Joint, & The Bokshop.  Be there!

"This Independence Weekend, award-winning Bulleit Frontier Whiskey and London’s most exciting chicken wing festival, WingJam, have joined forces, dishing up American-style Whiskey and Wing glory, to Londoners.
If whiskey and chicken wings are your thing, then you NEED to get down to the Bussey Building in Peckham Friday 5th to Sunday 7th July for WingJam’s chicken wing festival and rooftop party. Embodying the true American spirit, guests will be offered a complimentary Bulleit Melon Rider cocktail, before stepping into a mind-boggling variety of delicious chicken wings made by some of the country’s top street food vendors. 
The array of sticky, crispy or spicy wings (all at £1) can be enjoyed while wearing your very own Whiskey & Wings bib, either on the Bussey Building’s rooftop or whilst sitting on the back of Bulleit’s pick up truck. Fans can dance the night away to a full line up of live bands and DJs all while sipping on craft beers and Bulleit Whiskey cocktails."

The Frank's Cafe Rooftop Pop-up in Peckham - Summer 2019

Frank's Cafe - the summer pop-up on the rooftop of a multistorey carpark in Peckham - is back for its eleventh year, opening Tuesdays to Sundays from 30th May to 21st September 2019.  Frank's Cafe pre-dated almost everything that is now popular in Peckham (the Brick Brewery, Peckham Levels, Peckham Bazaar, The Begging Bowl and so on), and is a must for the summer, especially on warm, clear evenings.  The Cafe is built from scratch each year with timbers, rope and tarpaulins, and always looks very impressive.  The views are great, and so is the food, which includes barbecued meats, but also meze and salads.  Go!

"Frank’s Cafe reopens at Bold Tendencies on Thursday 30th May 2019.
Frank’s Cafe is the flagship architectural commission of Bold Tendencies in Peckham. The bar was designed by Practice Architecture (Paloma Gormley & Lettice Drake), and opened in 2009 by bartender Frank Boxer and chef Michael Davies.
Now in it’s 11th year, Frank’s provides a classic drinks offering for the thousands of visitors to the rooftop each summer, including beers, wines, and cocktails. The restaurant is open every day all summer long, including brunch service on the weekends.
Children and dogs are welcome at any time and visitors are welcome to bring blankets if required.
For step free access please speak to a member of our security team. They are available at all times at our main entrance.
We do not take reservations and recommend arriving early to secure a table."

BBQ Dreamz's Bong Bong's Manila Kanteen on the John Lewis Rooftop on Oxford Street

Filipino street food stars BBQ Dreamz (as seen on the BBC's My Million Pound Menu), are the chefs for this summer's John Lewis Roof Garden pop-up, open above the Oxford Street store every day til 29th September 2019.  It's great news for them - giving their fantastic food much more exposure - and great news for us as diners.  Lots of great things on the menu, inc their Lechon Pork Belly, and an Aubergine Satay Curry.  See you there!
It's part of what they are calling Roof Fest London, which also features DJs, live music (diary here) plus comedians, fitness and lots more.  As before, it's possible to book a table to eat and also to book special huts and 'hideaways' - links below.
