Bar Beverly's Valentine's Night Popup in Bethnal Green


This Valentine's Night, Bar Beverly is taking over G Kelly's Pie and Mash on Bethnal Green Road, for a night of cocktails and locally produced craft beer.  & hopefully they'll be back for a longer or more regular run after that.

This Friday head to Pacific Social Club in Clapton for Sho Foo Doh's special Valentine's Night menu.  No booking, but lots of great food, including Shirako Ponzu Yaki (seared cod), and Gyutan Umedare (ox tongues in plum sauce), plus lots of okonomiyaki.  Click on the pic to enlarge it!

The King's Kitchen's Valentine's Night Caribbean Banquet near Westbourne Park


On Valentine's Night The King's Kitchen are serving up a Caribbean banquet at Maida Hill Place, near Westbourne Park.  The menu includes sticky ribs, red velvet cake, and lots more.

Madame Tussauds' 'Loved Up' Valentine's Night Pop-up Restaurant


This Valentine's Day push the boat out with this £69 per head dinner at Madame Tussauds. When you arrive you'll get a champagne reception where you will be surrounded by 'celebs' from the Tussauds collection (which will make for some unusual photos); and then there is food from Payne & Gunter, and entertainment from The Voice finalist Nate James.

"Brangelina, Posh & Becks, Prince William & Princess Katherine, what do they all have in common? Apart from their great relationships, they are some of our most loved figures here at Madame Tussauds.
To celebrate this iconic love, on 14th February we will be hosting a Loved up pop up restaurant in association with BRIT Award Caterers Payne and Gunter.
As you arrive in our Hollywood inspired 'Party' reception, you will be greeted with Rose petal Martinis and Devils on Horseback canapés surrounded by the world's most iconic stars.
In our Victorian inspired World stage ballroom, as you dine under our ornate Chandeliers you will be treated to a sumptous three course meal including champagne sorbet and a threesome of desserts with flaming liquor. The voice finalist Nate James will be performing during the evening.  
Tickets available at £69 per person.

The Valentine's Night Banquet with MasterChef Winner Julie Friend at The Brunel Museum in Rotherhithe


This Valentine's Night BBC MasterChef winner 1997 Julie Friend is cooking a dinner in the underground tunnel at the Brunel Museum in SE16, with cocktails by Midnight Apothecary's Lottie Muir.  This kicks off a weekend of activities, including a boat ride on Saturday, cocktails on Saturday evening, plus a lovers' walk on Sunday morning.  Full details of all the events here.

"Liquid engineering will be provided by the museum’s resident Cocktail Gardener Lottie Muir who will set hearts racing with three perfectly paired love potions to accompany each of the three dreamy courses from BBC MasterChef winner Julie Friend at the Valentine sit-down banquet on Friday 14 February.
A Love Story and brief encounter in Brunel’s underground chamber will begin the magical evening designed for guests celebrating as a couple or just a group of loved ones. They will ascend into the candle-lit Brunel Museum to dine on a gourmet feast including ruby red beets, aromatic Moroccan spices and the darkest of dark chocolate before being invited to retire to the enchanted Midnight Apothecary roof garden to enjoy complimentary petit fours, toasted marshmallows and sparklers around the cosy firepit. The ticket includes three courses, three carefully paired cocktails, petit fours, marshmallows, sparklers, a Love Story and live entertainment. Wine may be purchased in addition at cash bar."

Lemonade & Laughing Gas' Valentine's Love Bite Games Night in Shoreditch


Regular event organisers Lemonade & Laughing Gas have got something very special planned for Valentine's Night - their Love Bite Games Night.  Lots of party games - they say 'Shooting Stars crossed with Gladiators and David Lynch' - plus food from Moro's Flo Hiller, and cocktails from Alex Orwin.  Tickets are £35 which includes a 3 course meal, a welcome cocktail and lots of fun and games...

"This 14th February we will be taking over the spectacular Red Kantine in Shoreditch to bring you a V-day you won’t forget: bring your lover(s), your friends and your enemies and come and play for prizes and adoration at our Love Bite Games Night. We will be teaming silliness, games and surreal encounters with our most playful, sensory menu yet. This time we’re teaming up with Flo Hillier of Moro to bring you an exciting twist on a typical lover’s feast - think aphrodisiacs, playing with your food and getting stuck in… all with an L&LG edge. As usual we will also be offering an exciting Love Bite themed drinks menu designed exclusively for us by genius mixologist Alex Orwin. (Both menus to be released shortly!)
Imagine Shooting Stars crossed with Gladiators and David Lynch and you’re halfway there. Come and join us for bizarre and mega-fun team games, exciting theatrics, a ‘down and dirty’ 3 course meal, drinks and dancing."

The 'Tunnel Of Love' Valentine's Week Pop-up Cinema in Vauxhall


This Valentine's Week Vauxhall Village are holding a 'Tunnel of Love' pop-up cinema in a railway arch, showing a selection of romantic films including Annie Hall, Romeo + Juliet, and Casablanca.  Tickets and just £7.50 + fees, and profits are going to local homelessness charity Thames Reach.

"Stuck for cringe-worthily romantic valentine’s ideas? Restaurants are too clichĂ© and who really likes walks by the river anyway right? Well luckily Vauxhall Village are back, once again bringing the big screen to original and unusual locations. This time round they’re turning a disused railway arch in Vauxhall into the tunnel of love for one weekend only. From the 13th - 16th February come to a mixture of screenings, ranging from the quirky art house and indie flicks, to the old school classics, there’s something to suit all tastes!
Vauxhall Village have previously brought you outdoor summer screenings in the pleasure gardens and festive delights in the railway arch, this time round love is definitely in the air. Come down early to soak up the atmosphere, whether with friends, your other half, your family or your next door neighbour’s cat. Head to the bar to sip champagne cocktail, pick your loved one up some flowers at the flower stall, or just treat yourself to some chocolate fondue, because well, you deserve it.
The films are being shown on a big screen at the back of the arch, comfy chairs, wireless headphones and cosy blankets will be provided.

The King of Gnocchi's 7 Course Italian Valentine's Day Feast in Hackney


Adalberto Battaglia, aka The King of Gnocchi, aka Quinto/Quarto is hosting a special 7 course Valentine's feast at Wonderland Ceramics in Victoria Park Road, E9.  I went to one of Adalberto's feasts a few months ago, and it was amazing.  Given that this is on Valentine's Day, don't wait too long to book it!  Oh - and it's BYOB.

"The King of Gnocchi is back! This time, come and feast on copious amounts of the most delicious seafood dishes, prepared from scratch, by our Grub Club Hero especially for Valentine's Day!!! 
With dishes such as Angel Hair Devon crab&cherry tomatoes, Scallops&Mango and Campari&orange marinated prawns or "Artisanal Gnocchi" w/ smoked salmon, dill& Marie Rose sauce; and as vegetarian options his well known hand-made Gnocchi w/Blue Stilton cream; to name just a small selection of the dishes, there's a reason Adha sells out before you can even undo your top button! 
With a track record which includes his own Rosette restaurant in Italy, and then working with Stefano Cavallini, Jamie Oliver (as you can see on the picture!) and Marco Pierre White, his credentials speak for themselves!!!"
