Butchies' July Residency at Dalston Roof Park

Butchies, who serve up their burgers and more at Broadway Market every Saturday, are holding a short residency at Dalston Roof Park, Ashwin Street, from 1st - 24th 11th July, Tuesday - Sunday.  They'll be focusing on free range chicken sandwiches, plus a vegetarian option, and a couple of sides.  The food at Dalston Roof Park is being curated by Root and Bone magazine in association with 40ft Brewery.  Don't miss it!

Dinerama - The Street Food Market in Shoreditch - Summer 2016

Dinerama, the great streetfood market at 19 Great Eastern Street, Shoreditch, is now onto it's summer hours, which means it's open from noon, Thursday to Sunday.  It's then open until midnight, except Sundays where it shuts at 10pm.  Go for some of the best of London's street food traders, in a convenient central location, with rooftop areas and more.

"Dinerama is stripping off for summer - we’re taking the roof off and letting in the sunshine vibes with three new bars. At ground level, say ‘Hello’ to Funkenpumper for vodka and energy, head up to the Pavilion Bar (formerly Zephyr Lounge) for picnic drinks and sharing cocktails or Dick’s Magic Tiki Bar where we’re swapping frozen toffee vodka shots for desert island drinks and rum with a view. Dinerama opens for lunch from Thursday 19 May, running midday-midnight Thu-Sat and midday-9pm on Sunday. Slap on the Factor 50, leave your soggy sandwich in the office fridge and we’ll see you there."

John Lewis's 'The Gardening Society' Rooftop Pop-up on Oxford Street

John Lewis has opened up a roof garden on top of its Oxford Street store for summer 2016.  Open until September 4th, it's called The Gardening Society, and features a rotating set of pop-ups restaurants - including The Dairy from Clapham in June, B.O.B.'s Lobster in July.  Plus there are bars, views and it's a nice place to chill out on a summer's afternoon or evening.

"The rooftop of John Lewis Oxford Street has been transformed into an arena of blooms and fresh herbs, hosting pop-up restaurants in collaboration with Night Tales, a coffee shop, activities such as yoga and a vibrant garden where you can relax and take time out.
Designed by renowned gardener Tony Woods – previously awarded RHS National Young Garden Designer of the Year – the rooftop garden will make home to the pop-up restaurant, adjoining bar and ‘award winning’ blooms and vegetables. 
Adapting to reflect each restaurant, cocktails curated by Background Bars will incorporate herbs grown and freshly picked each day from The Gardening Society’s garden. Throughout June, seasonal takes on classic British tipples will include Sunday Tonic, a ginger infused gin, rhubarb, homemade tonic bitters and Fentiman’s tonic. Rose Spritz comprises Belsazar Rosé, hand-picked garden herbs, fresh berries, grapefruit and Fentiman’s and the British Garden Julep blends gin, garden pea syrup, lemon juice, freshly picked mint and ginger ale."

Frank's Cafe - Peckham's Rooftop Pop-up - Back for 2016

Franks Cafe, the rooftop restaurant & bar in Peckham, re-opens for 2016 on Thursday 19th May.  Perched on the top of a multi-storey car park, ten stories high, it's one of the original London pop-up restaurants - first opening for the summer in 2008 - and still one of the best.  Take the lift for the 10th floor, and walk up from there, past Bold Tendencies' art, til you get to the rooftop.  There you'll find the bar and restaurant open Tuesday-Sunday until the end of Sept, and serving seasonal food, freshly cooked.  Plus, the views are stunning!

"Frank's Cafe is the flagship architectural commission of Bold Tendencies in Peckham. The bar was designed by Practice Architecture (Paloma Gormley & Lettice Drake), and opened in 2008 by bartender Frank Boxer and chef Michael Davies.
Bold Tendencies
Bold Tendencies is a summertime non-profit commissioning art project, now in its 10th year. It commissions site-specific works of visual and performing art most noted for large-scale sculpture. Bold Tendencies is now a firm fixture in the international exhibition calendar, having welcomed over half a million visitors to the car park.

Brixton Beach Boulevard Rooftop Bars and Diners for Summer 2016

Brixton Beach Boulevard is a rooftop bar with 6 food options, opening from the end of May to the end of August 2016.  Situated on Valentia Place, between Coldharbour Lane and Brixton Station Road, it'll be open from Thursdays to Sundays, starting 27th May, and is based on a 1980s Miami vibe.  The six restaurants are Miami Bass - high end, Lucky Pierre - 'Frites & Treats', The Other Side Fried - buns, La Chatica - Latin American, Nanny Bills - streetfood classics, and Mac To The Future - Mac & Cheese.  This looks like a great addition to the summer 2016 rooftops!

"The award winning team behind Brixton’s South Pole Saloon (Design My Night's "Best Pop-Up London 2015) have unveiled their plans for ‘Brixton Beach Boulevard’ - a pop up neon beach town in the heart of Brixton, transporting guests to back in time to the beating heart of glittering 80’s Miami:
“It’s Miami 1982. The air hangs thick and heavy as temperatures run high along the sun kissed boards of The Boulevard. Palm trees throw shade over the pastel coloured buildings of the strip - a daylight costume that fades as the sun goes down, and gives way to the glittering jacket of night time. This is a neon city where girls in short skirts with golden tans work their way into the hearts of the bad boys of the beach. But all that glitters ain't gold in this popping playground, for high-rollers, roller skaters, love makers and money takers.”
Opening on May 27, ‘Brixton Beach Boulevard’ invites guests to escape the hustle and bustle of London, wind back the clock and turn up the heat for a series of immersive day and night parties, surprise DJ sets, live broadcasting of this summer’s amazing sporting events, outdoor screenings of classic 80’s films, plus local street food vendors and refreshing summer cocktails. Supplying the sound at Brixton Beach Boulevard will be Pioneer Pro Audio and their fantastic XY Series.

MIAMI BASS:
Every beach has it’s one high-end restaurant and this is Brixton Beach Boulevard’s hottest spot. Miami Bass is Brixton Beach Boulevard’s platform for trained chefs to have fun serving up creative street food at democratic prices. Guests can pre-order shared dishes such as Chateaubriand steak and shoulder of lamb. 
LUCKY PIERRE:
Lucky Pierre will see trained chefs offer a selection of Frites & Treats. Serving hand cut frites cooked three ways: coconut oil, beef dripping or rapeseed oil; with a variety of toppings and garnishes. Lucky Pierre will also offer a dessert menu – comprising a selection of ice cream parlour desserts such as the classic Knickerbocker Glory. 
THE OTHER SIDE FRIED:
Brixton locals The Other Side Fried will be on hand to server up their buttermilk fried chicken buns and a selection of unique sides, such as smoked mash.  
LA CHATICA:
Local to Brixton and Elephant & Castle, La Chatica cafe showcases pure Latin American taste with dishes such as empanadas and kebabs.  
NANNY BILL’S:
Experienced London-based traders Nanny Bill’s will be at Brixton Beach Boulevard, specialising in contemporary street food classics, led by their trademark croquettes 
MAC TO THE FUTURE:
New on this scene this Summer, Mac to the Future will be serving up their unique and interesting take on a the mac ’n' cheese classic."

'Pergola on The Roof' Rooftop Pop-up with 4 Restaurants in Shelpherds Bush

Pergola on The Roof is a new summer rooftop pop-up on the roof of the old TV Centre in Shepherd's Bush.  Last year this site was used by a pop-up called Storeys; this year it's opening with a new concept - 4 restaurants, Patty & Bun, Salt Yard, Rabbit and Le Coq, all serving a besoke summer menu, plus two bars, boules, bookable daybeds for ten, and even a retractable roof in case of rain.  It's open from 26th May to 29th August, Wednesday to Sunday.  This is going to be so popular!

The Queen of Hoxton's Summer of Love Rooftop Bar for Summer 2016

This summer the Queen of Hoxton's rooftop bar has taken a psychedlic 'summer of love' theme, complete with cool nots of San Francisco in the 1960s, flower power and more.  There's food, including Beatnik Burger, and Psychedelic Ice Cream Sandwich, not to mention Salmon and Garfunkel (from the BBQ), plus lots of cocktails with names like LSTea, The Limes They Are a Changin’, and even ice cream floats, called things like Drop Sorbet, Not Bombs.  (They clearly had fun naming things!)  It's open Monday to Saturday for the summer, nad there are lots of special events planned too.  Be There, or Be Square!

Notch London Rooftop Bar for Cocktials & Food near Marble Arch

Notch is a new rooftop bar at 535 Oxford Street - almost opposite Marble Arch.  Last year there was a bar called Roofnic in this spot, but Notch is brand new for 2016 - you can watch them building it on their Facebook page.  Expect lots of cocktails, pls food from Mark Morrans (Kurobuta), and it's open from 10am - 10pm every day for the summer of 2016.  it's even got wifi to make instagramming easier (or pretending that you're actually at work...).  Got to be done!

"Practically opposite Marble Arch tube station, Notch stares down Oxford Street, from the top of the Marriott Hotel. 
Emphasis is on drinks, with the likes of pre-mixed Negronis, Old Fashioneds and the Adonis (red vermoth, sherry and bitters) on hand – all classic mixes, and all excellent – which are stored colourful tins resembling vintage tuna cans. There are also a number of freshly mixed summer cocktails, including the Red Pigeon (tequila, campari, lime, pink grapefruit, sugar) and the Humming Bird (gin, elderflower, lavender, apple, lemon, sugar). Cocktails cost £8. 
Food comes courtesy of a small shack manned by Mark Morrans (Kurobuta, Nobu Melbourne), who's devised a menu which includes sea bass ceviche, fried chicken with marinated kimchee mayo and pulled beef with anticucho drenched short rib, anticucho mayo and pickled cucumber. Food is served from midday until 10pm. 
Regardless of the weather, Notch will be open seven days a week, from 10am until 10pm, and has Wifi on site."
